Sebastian is the biggest city in Indian River County and one of our regular route days. Most of the pools we look after here sit in the established neighbourhoods off US-1 and Barber Street, plus the canal properties running back from the St. Sebastian River and the lagoon.
It is a town with a lot of seasonal residents — the median age is well into the fifties and plenty of houses sit empty through the summer. An unattended pool in a Florida July is the single most common reason we get called out for a green pool recovery, so if you are away for months at a time, keeping weekly service running is cheaper than the recovery afterwards.
A cage keeps the oak leaves out but traps pollen and dust against the water in spring. Cages also cut UV, which changes how fast chlorine burns off — the dosing that works for an open pool is usually wrong for a caged one.
Properties near the river and the lagoon get salt-laden air on the equipment pad. Pump housings, rails and heater cabinets corrode faster here than a few miles inland, so we check the pad, not just the water.
An afternoon downpour can drop chlorine and alkalinity in one hit and wash organics off the deck into the pool. That is normal for Sebastian in July — it just needs testing and correcting rather than panic.
Skim, brush, vacuum, empty the baskets and balance the water — every week, same day.

Keep it on weekly service. A pool left alone through a Florida summer goes green in a matter of weeks, and the recovery costs more than the months of service you skipped. We send a photo after every visit so you can see it from wherever you are.
Yes — Roseland and the neighbourhoods either side of CR 512 are on the same route. North of the county line into Micco and Barefoot Bay is outside our area.
